A lifelong Cape Codder, Jack Cotton launched his real estate firm in 1974 from his college dorm room at Babson College. Though early interviews guided him toward commercial real estate in Boston, he quickly realized his professional calling was closer to home — helping clients navigate Cape Cod’s most sought-after properties. This early decision set the course for a career defined by longevity, discretion and trust.
Cotton is known for a methodical, consultative approach shaped by one guiding question: What is in the client’s best interest? Serving luxury second-home buyers and sellers from Osterville, Wianno, Oyster Harbors, Cotuit, Hyannisport and Woods Hole to West Falmouth, he applies deep market knowledge and a steady perspective to every transaction. Clients value his attention to detail, unhurried counsel and ability to make complex decisions feel intuitive, always delivering a “limited edition” experience.
A nationally recognized industry leader, Cotton is a member of the National Association of Realtors and a certified instructor with the Residential Real Estate Council. He also belongs to REALM, an invitation-only network of top luxury agents nationwide. In 2025, he received the Chuck Lockhart Award from the Cape Cod and Islands Association of Realtors, honoring his impact on the profession.
In 2005, Cotton sold his firm to Sotheby’s International Realty. Beyond real estate, he endowed the Cotton Center for Real Estate at Cape Cod Community College and is an active educator and speaker at select events nationwide. A licensed 100-ton Coast Guard captain, he spends time navigating the waters of southern Cape Cod and its islands with his family, which includes four children and three grandchildren, who are his greatest pride.
