Mezini came to the U.S. at age 16 with an empty wallet. Unable to speak English, he still managed to excel in math and science, which led to a full college scholarship. To earn money in those days, he installed laminate floors for Sears, flipped two apartments and saved enough money for a down payment on a piece of land in the Virgin Islands. “After subdividing the land into two parcels, each worth what I paid for the original one, I used the property as leverage for buying a much larger property,” he says. “And that was it. From then on, I was hooked on real estate.”
Living at the “crossroads of law and business,” Mezini adds tremendous value to the client experience. “I don’t sell my clients a particular property. I help them make educated decisions,” he says. “I am more of a coach, a resourceful consultant with the goal of getting for my clients the property that they want, under the best possible terms, while making the property-buying process as smooth and stress-free as possible.”
The former litigation attorney joined Buyers Brokers Only, a firm made up of attorneys and brokers that serves only buyers in real estate transactions, after earning an MBA and a Master of Laws degree in banking and finance. Last year, he doubled his personal real estate portfolio and exceeded $30 million in sales, the best year of his 13-year career.
