For Phil Tocci, regional sales leader at Academy Mortgage Corporation, true success is defined as being the leader of a team that makes home ownership possible for over 5,000 families per year.
“I have experienced every economic cycle more than once and have worked with every type of consumer and mortgage professional,” says Tocci. “I prioritize my client’s needs, which enables me to have open and clear communication.” A married father of three sons, he continued his formal education after beginning his career in mortgage, earning an MBA and even his J.D. degree, all the while working full time in the mortgage business.
Balancing family, work and higher education has taught Tocci a thing or two about priorities and organizing. He makes sure his team is equipped with defined responsibilities and a set of expectations to make sure every client is completely happy. He comments, “Under my leadership, Academy has risen to become a top purchase mortgage lender in units for Massachusetts and ranks in the top 10 for mortgage companies.”

Now with 35 years in his industry, Tocci is a director of the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association and currently serves as its treasurer. He states he is driven by integrity, bolstered by a large portfolio of lending options for his client and motivated by the potential of what he and his team are doing. “My true aim is to encourage hope, inspire dreams and build prosperity for my clients and my employees,” he says.
