David DeBonis, Senior Loan Officer

Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp.

Personal achievements are typically about one’s own success. For mortgage professional David DeBonis, it’s about the success of others. One of the most important aspects of his business involves focusing on giving back. In addition to his clients, partners and team, DeBonis makes it a point to give back to as many people as possible, including his family, his friends and charity organizations. He believes doing good things for others attracts good things for yourself. So far, this has rung true for him.

A mortgage industry veteran of more than 20 years, DeBonis is ranked among the top mortgage originators in the nation for annual loan volume by trade publications Scotsman Guide and Mortgage Executive Magazine. He is a senior loan officer at the Danvers branch of Draper and Kramer Mortgage, where he closed over $112 million in home loans last year through the finely tuned mortgage process he offers his clients.

When working with his diverse range of borrowers, DeBonis thinks of himself as a human being first and foremost and puts himself in others’ shoes to better serve them. “I take the time to know my clients and the challenges of each transaction before I use my professional judgement to recommend the right solutions,” he says. DeBonis is especially passionate about helping veterans, and he was the first mortgage originator to close on a MassHousing Operation Welcome Home loan, a special honor that was celebrated at the Statehouse and attended by the governor.

In the year ahead, DeBonis plans to continue increasing his loan production, improving customer satisfaction and embracing new technology to streamline his team’s process and better serve his clients’ needs. And, of course, he will also keep giving back wherever he can.
