Ashley Brennan, Realtor/Global Real Estate Advisor

Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty

Ashley Brennan has built a brand on the South Shore/Cape Cod as a dedicated Realtor, fierce negotiator, and volunteer in the community. Yet, real estate was not always part of her plan. Brennan, a Realtor and global real estate advisor with Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty in Hingham originally intended to pursue a career with the FBI. After completing a master’s degree in administration of justice with a concentration in international law, she instead supported her husband’s hockey career and relocated to Europe. Five years later, the stay-at-home mom and her family returned to the U.S. “My intention at this point was to attend law school, but a meeting with a headhunter prompted me to shift gears to real estate,” she recalls, noting that the recruiter suggested real estate for its family-friendly, flexible schedule. “I saw similarities between the professions of real estate and law. Both entail working with contracts, negotiation, and cultivating client relationships.” The fact that both industries operate in situations that are rarely straightforward, providing ample opportunities for problem-solving, made real estate a natural choice for her.

Brennan’s expertise in negotiations—she emphasizes to clients the importance of attracting multiple buyers rather than settling for the initial offer—separates her from the competition. She prioritizes hosting all advertised open houses and guides buyers through multiple-offer situations, allowing them to refine their offers to streamline the selection process.

Fun and approachable, she gives clients the best possible experience and thanks them for their business each year by inviting them to her annual Halloween party. A notary public, Brennan holds the designation of Accredited Buyer’s Representative and is on track to attain a broker associate license and The Graduate, REALTOR® Institute certification.

Recently appointed a receiver by the Department of Justice for a property on Cape Cod, she overcame multiple hurdles before closing the complex deal. It was a highlight of her 13-year career.
