Upon seeing the loan originator who previously offered him a job a year later, David DeBonis decided to lean into serendipity and give mortgage lending a shot. Now twenty-two years into his dream career, DeBonis says, “I am still as excited — if not more so — about what I do.” A recipient of his firm’s President’s Club Award for the past seven years and a Banker & Tradesman Top Producer for the past five, his commitment to growth in the field is evident.
“Helping people gives me a lot of satisfaction and it truly brings me happiness to witness someone else’s success and know I was a part of it,” shares DeBonis.
With a knack for assisting first-time homebuyers and a specialty for helping first responders and veterans, DeBonis offers tailor-made solutions based on his clients’ needs. He begins each interaction with a detailed intake call that educates and sets expectations. Many clients — most of whom are network or past client referrals — have expressed their appreciation for his principled approach and ability to put them at ease.
Making the jump into leadership, DeBonis launched his own branch and is building a celebrated team of professionals while continuing to serve his client base. His team includes a production planner to ensure full-cycle communication, and a sales assistant who ensures exceptional back-end management. The team’s finely-tuned dynamic fosters a collaborative culture that yields a five-star client experience.
DeBonis has a history of volunteerism with multiple children’s organizations and is a supporter of ALS ONE’s fundraising efforts. A cause especially close to his heart, he has raised $12,000 for the research group. He is proud to have recently traveled to Italy with his wife and daughters to see generations of family and immerse themselves in their strong cultural roots. When he’s not on the water, he enjoys staying physically active, vehicles and offroading, as well as entertaining at home.
