The Lowell Historic Board signed off on the addition of a mixed-use residential building on two vacant lots located at 291 and 341 Jackson Street.

The project from Cabot, Cabot & Forbes will cost $155 million and add 362 apartments and 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and commercial space.

Due to the project’s location in the Downtown Lowell Historic District and Hamilton Canal Innovation District, developers sought and received approval from the Lowell Historic Board. The board has approved nearly 4,000 units of housing in the area since 1984.
