by Liz Hughes

The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s has reached a leasing milestone with 95% of its units currently leased.

The hilltop residential community, located at 161-185 Washington St. in Brighton, includes four buildings as well as the restored, former St. Gabriel’s Church now known as Maker Hall which serves as the community’s main building and houses its amenities.

“Our vision for The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s was to create a dynamic, thriving community and one of the most unique residential experiences in Greater Boston,” John Sullivan, executive vice president at Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, said in a press release. “In reaching stabilization, we can see the property fully come to life and that vision realized.”

The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s offers residents top-of-the-line amenities and a desirable location close to Boston, the Massachusetts Turnpike and public transportation. Amenities include a fitness center, cafe, an outdoor pool and grills, a business center, a co-working space and other common areas.

The development was awarded several awards for its preservation and reuse efforts as well as innovation including the 2021 Preservation Massachusetts Thomas M. Menino Legacy Award, a 2021 Boston Preservation Alliance Preservation Award, a 2021 Student Housing Business Innovator Award, and a 2021 Multi-Housing News Excellence Award in Adaptive Reuse.
