Rick Scherer promises five-star customer service because he knows that he and his team can deliver. As vice president and senior mortgage planner at MSA Mortgage, Scherer has created an office environment that fosters determination and commitment as well as business growth. He works with a variety of clients, ranging from first-time homebuyers to investors purchasing multifamily homes within Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.

Scherer ranks among the top mortgage originators in the country, particularly because of an efficient and simple process for his clients. As a professional with 18 years of real estate experience, Scherer prioritizes assisting others in improving their businesses. “When I am not with my clients, I am typically working side by side with my referral partners,” he says. “I often host Real Estate Agent Masterminds, where I will bring together 10 agents for a three-hour event to discuss and share best practices. I have and will continue to help my partners in any way I can so that we all continue to grow our businesses together.”

Scherer has found a great balance between being a team leader, growing his own business volume, and spending time with his wife, daughter and son, including boating in Boston Harbor during the summer and skiing at Loon Mountain in New Hampshire in the winter.

Scherer is a member of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors and a supporter of HomeStart, an organization that specializes in securing permanent housing for people living in shelters and helps people maintain their homes when threatened with eviction.

Scherer also biked 200 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown in support of the Pan-Mass Challenge. “It was the most physically challenging thing I have ever done and, at the same time, the most gratifying,” he says.
