Kevin J. Ahearn
CEO, Boston Division
Douglas Elliman Real Estate

From enjoying a career as a professional hockey player to becoming the CEO of the Boston Division at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, Kevin J. Ahearn has always been an achiever. Ahearn co-founded Otis & Ahearn in 1978 after acquiring the William F. Otis real estate company, and then sold his company to Douglas Elliman in March 2018.

Servicing longtime clients and referrals, Ahearn facilitates the buying and selling of properties in Boston proper, as well as the North Shore, South Shore, and Cape Cod and its islands. “Based on years of experience in both general brokerage and new development sales and marketing, I have always used data analysis to help clients make important business and personal decisions,” says Ahearn, noting that his own experience as an investor enhances his value as an adviser. “Additionally, by working in disciplines including unit design, development, branding, and cutting-edge technology such as CAD renderings, we’ve expanded our services beyond the scope of a traditional brokerage.”

After attending Boston College, Ahearn played hockey and competed at the highest amateur level internationally on the U.S. national team. In 1972, he was a silver medalist at the Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan, and his athletic career earned him a spot in the Boston College Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Wharf District Bid, the Back Bay Association and Friends of the Public Garden, as well as a supporter of the MSPCA and other charities.

Outside of work, Ahearn enjoys golfing and traveling with his wife. Together, they summer on Cape Cod and spend winter breaks in Florida and Bermuda.
