Matthew Attaya
Senior Loan Officer
Residential Mortgage Services

Matthew Attaya, senior loan officer at Residential Mortgage Services (RMS), has worked in the mortgage industry for 13 years, but the process of helping first-time buyers never gets old. “I really love what I do, especially with the first-time buyer. Although I enjoy helping all borrowers, there is nothing quite like calling the first-time buyer when I get the official clear to close,” he says.

Buying a home can be overwhelming and confusing, and Attaya tries to make the loan process as smooth and simple as possible. “Treat people right, communicate often, listen and create a comfortable environment of dialogue” is the motto he follows when working with each client. Attaya’s responsiveness, dedication and extensive knowledge of financing products has helped him excel in the mortgage industry. In 2015 and 2016, he was named among the Top 1% of Mortgage Originators in America by Mortgage Executive magazine. And for the past four years, he’s been part of the President’s Club at Residential Mortgage Services, which is awarded to the top 25 performers.

Attaya graduated from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Before entering the mortgage industry in 2004, he worked for a national banking firm in the compliance department.

Throughout his real estate career, Attaya has built his business in Boston working with clients purchasing their first condo. “These clients have become friends, and I’ve worked with them when they have opted to leave the city and start the next chapter of their lives in the suburbs,” he says.

Clients often note Attaya’s receptiveness, friendliness and professionalism – in fact, he’s received more than 90 five-star reviews on Zillow, and that number continues to grow. He ensures that he’s always available for his clients after hours and on weekends. “The homebuying process has a tremendous amount of velocity and is not a 9-to-5 situation,” he says.
