My Style: Shannon Lavin, Broker, Compass

by Boston Agent

Number of years in real estate: Seven years

Describe your look: Polished, classic and sophisticated

What do you consider a “fashion don’t”? Wearing clothes that don’t fit right. Find a good tailor and have your clothes altered to fit your body; it will change your life.

What is your favorite piece of clothing and why? My favorite piece is actually jewelry. I have a pair of diamond earrings my grandmother gave me as a gift over a decade ago, and I still wear them every day. Every woman should have a pair of diamond earrings; they are timeless and add class and sophistication to any look. (Be careful not to go too big or they’ll look flashy!)

What do you consider a must-have accessory? Stiletto heels; they bring instant confidence to any outfit.

Where are your favorite places to shop? Saks 5th Avenue, Nordstrom, Theory, Anthropologie and Lululemon

What, besides your wardrobe, completes your look? Confidence and a smile

What is in your bag/brief case? Wallet, Moleskine notebook (I still like hand-writing my notes!), a tape measure, iPad, charger, Swell water bottle and lipgloss

My closet is full of… Theory pants and blazers, stilettos, jeans, oversized sweaters, Lululemon yoga pants and running sneakers

What is your style advice for other people in the industry? Your style is a direct reflection of your personal brand. Wear what makes you feel confident, but make sure you keep it professional when you’re at work; it shows a level of respect for yourself and your clients.
