Agent Snapshot: Jared Parker, Realtor Sales Associate, Benoit Mizner Simon

Name: Jared Parker

Job Title: Realtor Sales Associate

Company: Benoit Mizner Simon

What was your first job in the realty industry? As a teenager, a few local agents paid me to clean out houses and pick up for-sale signs.

Where did you grow up? Wellesley, MA

Growing up, what did you want to be? A firefighter.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? I try to head to the ocean as much as possible. The ocean cures everything.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? My wife! She may not fit the “well known” portion of this question, but we are both so busy with work and kids and life, it would be nice just to sit and hang out with her.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? When I am not selling real estate, I am currently serving as the president of The Wellesley Historical Society and Wellesley Youth Hockey Association, so any rink or historic area is a great place for me to go.

What do you love most about the industry? No two transactions are the same. Each client brings a different set of needs or requirements that I am challenged to try to find the best end result for them.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I try to be as real and genuine as I can. Buying and selling can be a very stressful process, so I want my clients to know that I am there for them every step of the way.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Constantly having to shift gears to meet everyone’s changing needs.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I sincerely try to be a pillar of the community. I coach hockey, I am a town meeting member, and serve on various other boards.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Maintaining a balance between work, family, and volunteering.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? One of my all time favorite movies was on recently, “Shawshank Redemption.” I just finished “Bloody Sunday” by local Wellesley author Ben Coes.

What is your favorite restaurant? The Chart Room in Cataumet.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? Fanueil Hall

What kind of car do you drive? Chevy Silverado Pickup truck

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone

What is your favorite city after Boston? Manchester, NH

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Grow thick skin fast.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Dot Loop

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I really do not use Twitter.
