Agent Snapshot: Tracy Shand, Property Transfer Consultant, Jack Conway & Company, Inc., Lakeville

What was your first job in the realty industry? Caring for my clients’ housing needs

Where did you grow up? Boston suburbs

Growing up, what did you want to be? An archaeologist and ecologist

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Chillin’ on my boat at my lake house – call ahead when you join me!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Jesus, so I could learn the most important lessons, and affect change and growth in myself and my world.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? With my family, wherever we are as long as we are together.

What do you love most about the industry? On a good day, it is the best job in the world. On a bad day, I can attempt to resolve my client’s problems so it becomes a good day!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am just me. To know me is to understand that it is not about me…it is all about my clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? When a situation doesn’t make allowances for me to assist in an effective manner. In this job, I need to be protective of my client, competitive, but also cooperative in order to accomplish a mutual goal for all parties (buyer and seller).

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? In my opinion, there are networking opportunities everywhere!
Meeting new clients has been from referrals by my previous clients. Can I adopt you into my network? Thanks.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? In business, the greatest accomplishment is every time my clients thank me and are happy with the results. Personally, my greatest accomplishments are my relationships with family, friends, colleagues and most importantly, my friendship with God.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Movie: an animated cartoon with my toddler grandchild!
Book: “The Go Giver.” Read it and let me know what you think of its business model…

What is your favorite restaurant? My grandmother’s kitchen table…

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? There are so many, but I adore the Isabella Stewart Gardner residence, which is a museum. Her life story is so interesting. We really need to go there soon…

What kind of car do you drive? A 2016 Toyota Camry, but I prefer summer cruises in my husband’s 1969 Camaro muscle car!

Smartphone or paper? Both

What is your favorite city after Boston? My favorite city is Venice, Italy. I have only seen it in photos, but WOW…what an amazing piece of real estate!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Call me with questions so I can help you

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? For consumers: Zillow’s mobile app is amazing. To help run my business: “Up Sign Down” which is an easy way to order my post signs to be installed or removed.
