Agent Snapshot: Peggy Pratt Calle, Real Estate Broker, Century 21, Revere

screen-shot-2016-10-26-at-12-06-15-pmWhat was your first job in the realty industry? I was a rental agent at International Realty Group in East Boston in 1996.

Where did you grow up? Fenway in Boston

Growing up, what did you want to be? An attorney or retail clothing buyer

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Work out, cook or go outside and play with my children

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Michelle Obama – she is a remarkable woman filled with knowledge, ideas and wisdom. She is also a mother and an extremely educated, motivated and practical person.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? The beach or anywhere with an ocean view. The ocean brings serenity and peacefulness. It is humbling because it reminds you that life is so much bigger than you or me.

What do you love most about the industry? The industry offers me the opportunity to help others not only in the immediate comfort of having their own home, but in helping them create future wealth. It really gives me the platform to share my experiences and tips on investing with buyers and sellers and also help new agents coming into the business who want to better their quality of life.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I have experience not only in sales, but also in renovations and investment. I have worked as a Realtor for 18 years and my knowledge of my market is expansive and respected among my peers. My reputation is my best asset and I have worked very hard to keep it.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Fulfilling buyers’ expectations with regards to what they can afford. I wish I could sell everyone a mansion for $100,000, but with today’s prices it is a difficult feat.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I am on the board of directors for of The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) Boston Chapter and have found that networking with other successful individuals and bouncing ideas off of each other is key! I meet new clients everywhere – at the cleaners, at church, at parties and through my social media outlets.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My greatest accomplishment has been juggling a successful career while raising three beautiful children. Both give me great joy and satisfaction.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? “Risen.” It is a movie based on the third day after Jesus rose from the dead. It describes the doubts of the people and Roman army as to whether this had been a hoax or truly a miracle, and how it converted many non-believers.

What is your favorite restaurant? Del Frisco’s steakhouse on the Boston waterfront

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? The Isabella Gardner Museum of Fine Arts. I grew up in Fenway and would walk the park when I was younger and just stare in awe.

What kind of car do you drive? A Mercedes SUV

Smartphone or paper? Paper

What is your favorite city after Boston? Medellin, Colombia or Miami, Florida

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Listen to your buyers and sellers before you speak.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Mortgage calculator
