In 2004, after experiencing the uncertainty of the corporate world at several high-tech companies, Dana Cabral realized that life as an IT manager was no longer his calling. He had been through the homebuying process three times and found that his loan officer’s job clicked with him, and the appeal of being in charge of his own business was irresistible. As a result, he made the decision to become a mortgage professional.

Today, Cabral has over 18 years of home financing experience and is a vice president of residential lending at Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp. Based in the northern Boston Metro area, he serves clients throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Florida. Cabral is a top-producing loan officer who has been ranked among the top 1% of mortgage originators in the nation by industry publication Mortgage Executive Magazine based on his annual volume of closed loans.

Over the years, Cabral has perfected the art of guiding clients through the loan process with efficiency and care. “I always like to meet my customers where they’re at,” he says. “Instead of just talking at them, I make sure to speak with them using layman’s terms, so they truly understand the process and all that’s involved.” Accordingly, he is consistently available for his clients, including weekends and nights, via text, phone or email.

Cabral believes in running his business with full integrity and transparency, which he credits with helping develop his loyal client base. “There’s no reason to hide anything,” he says. “I want to create relationships for life and provide good, memorable experiences.” Cabral notes that he wants to be the person that his clients think about when they or a friend or family member needs home financing.

In 2023, Cabral plans to cultivate his home-purchase business and hopes to meet more industry professionals and expand his network.
