For two years in a row, Greg Giokas, a senior loan officer with Residential Mortgage Services, has been named among the top 1 percent of originators in the country by Mortgage Executive magazine.

Giokas’ other achievements include being recognized as a Distinguished Mortgage Professional by the Expert Network and being named the Affiliate Member of the Year in 2011 by the Greater Boston Association of Realtors. Top Agent Magazine featured him as a premier loan officer in 2016.

A member of the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, Giokas has worked in the mortgage lending industry for 17 years. He typically serves first-time homebuyers, vacation homebuyers and empty nesters. Accessible to clients, he never takes for granted that a home is their most important purchase. “I always treat clients the way I want to be treated,” he says. “I love connecting with people and helping them achieve the ultimate goal of homeownership.” That, coupled with being naturally intrigued by numbers, inspired him to pursue a career in lending.

Giokas credits a few prominent mentors with helping him prepare for his career. “Even today, I always strive to learn something new from both veteran and rookie loan officers,” he says.

A musician, Giokas plays the drums as a stress reliever. He also practices yoga and participates in CrossFit training. With two daughters who are as full of energy as he and his wife are, he also enjoys traveling with his family.
