John J. Dean Jr. draws upon his 15 years in real estate and his entrepreneurial spirit to support buyers, sellers and investors within the Greater Boston area. Working as a Realtor and Real Estate Advisor at Engel & Völkers, Dean acts as an advocate on behalf of his clients and takes time to educate them about the market and the transaction. “One of Engel & Völkers’ philosophies is that ‘every home is a castle,’” says Dean, adding that he assists clients with the same level of integrity and professionalism regardless of their budget or needs.

In 2012, after just three years in the industry, Dean was inducted into the Top Agent Network, ranking him among the top 10 percent of real estate agents in the state. “I think my superpower is the ability to listen to a client and spend real time with them to gain an understanding of their real estate needs,” he says. “I draw upon not only my past experiences in real estate but also on my prior roles in marketing and communication to to meet my client’s goals as best as possible as well as motivate them to expand their thinking and reprioritize when necessary.”

Halfway through 2017, Dean switched brokerages to Engel & Völkers in Back Bay, where he’s already earned membership into the Elite Awards Club and grown his network to include agents around the world, as well as lenders who can assist clients in purchasing a home. In 2017, he was also recognized as the Best of Somerville Real Estate Consultant by Somerville Awards Program, and was highlighted in Boston Voyager and Top Agent magazine. Dean is a member of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Massachusetts Association of Realtors. He supports The Salvation Army’s Our Place daycare center and the Infant Follow Up Program at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Dean and his wife recently welcomed Emma, a German Wirehaired Pointer, into their family. In his off time, Dean enjoys fly fishing and cooking for his family and friends.
