Realtor
Waterfield Sotheby’s International Realty
Lesley Smith has spent the last 17 years dedicating her life to helping clients within the Boston and North Shore area meet their real estate goals. A Realtor at Waterfield Sotheby’s International Realty, Smith works with buyers, sellers and developers, advocating on their behalf while working efficiently and professionally.
“People appreciate lots of information and the truth, even if it hurts,” she says about a Realtor’s need for tactful and consistent communication, something that she herself prioritizes.
Before joining the industry, Smith was a community liaison for a Boston City Council member, as well as a private investigator. But neither provided her with as much independence as she wanted, so she made the move to real estate in order to continue working with people. “The past 17 years have been fun and at some points stressful, but I love that there is never a dull moment and I get to meet lots of interesting people,” she says.
During the past year, Smith sold a century-old Victorian house that proved to be challenging due to the size and amount of work it needed. Luckily, she was able to find the unique buyer it needed in a timely manner. She also organizes an annual golf tournament in her dad’s memory that raised over $40,000 last year for the youth of Charlestown.
Smith is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and is an active board member of the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club. She is also a supporter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. When she’s not working, she enjoys traveling as well as spending time with her friends and family.
