Baby boomers hold billions in Cape Cod real estate

Baby boomers hold nearly $18 trillion in U.S. real estate — and a large share is concentrated in Cape Cod.

A new study from Realtor.com, using data from Zillow, valued the Cape Cod real estate owned by the 65-plus demographic at $34 billion.

Fifty-three percent of homeowners in the area are baby boomers.

The comfy location offers coastal living without the bustle of Boston. Homes in Cape Cod boast a median value of $899,250.
