Teacher, trainer, mentor — these are words often used to describe Realtor Maureen Schlegel, who has been serving the Greater Boston area for more than 25 years. Willing to help anyone who needs assistance, Schlegel is known among clients and peers for her patience and experience.
Clients also recognize Schlegel for her sincerity, professionalism and guidance, along with her ability to handle unexpected challenges. She points to organization as the secret to her success. “If you are not organized, you won’t be able to handle multiple situations,” she explains. She also gives credit to her vast network of mortgage brokers, attorneys, tradespeople, estate-sale companies and others that help her get the job done for her clients.
A long association with Century 21, where she focuses on her hometown of Malden and surrounding cities, has rewarded Schlegel with expertise in residential real estate that goes beyond the standard transactions. The former banking executive is also an expert in more complex transactions such as foreclosures, investments and 1031 exchanges. Her varied skillset and commitment to her clients has resulted in multiple professional awards for production and service in the last decade.
Before real estate, Schlegel’s natural desire to help others led her to earn a degree in business and education, from which she draws often to mentor other agents and educate her clients. At Century 21 North East, she leads training sessions and develops procedures for the rest of the team to follow. Most recently, she created the training procedures for a new online mail system that will roll out in 2024.
Schlegel, who grew up watching “This Old House” with her dad, also prioritizes her own professional growth and recently began studying for her broker’s license. When not focused on real estate, she enjoys cooking, watching sports and caring for her new granddaughter.
