An affinity for numbers, a desire to help others and an interest in a sales career led Paul Archibald to the mortgage business 18 years ago. Since then, he has focused on providing what he describes as a “white-glove experience” for every client. “I have a fantastic team around me, and I work for a great company,” he says. “We care about our clients and referral partners and appreciate them.”

With the last year being such a difficult one for mortgage lenders, Archibald acknowledges that he worked harder in 2023 than ever before. He took a back-to-basics approach, attacking each day like it was his first day on the job. “Many people left the business last year,” he recalls. “My purchase business grew over 60%.” He says that being a mortgage-guidelines expert allows him to structure loans to fit specific needs, which he believes gives him a competitive advantage. “We have so many programs available at Guaranteed Rate that it’s important to be a guidelines expert,” he adds.

Archibald has been recognized in the Scotsman Guide as a top originator several times, in Mortgage Executive Magazine among the top 1% of originators in America for several years, and by Guaranteed Rate in its Chairman Circle and Presidents Club on numerous occasions. He truly enjoys the relationships he builds in the mortgage business. He’s especially happy when his business gives him the opportunity to reconnect with old friends.

Every year, Archibald hosts coat drives and donates received items to the St. Francis House shelter in Boston. He also appreciates family time and outdoor activities such as golfing, skiing and visiting the beach.
