Growing up in Medford, Krista Matthews knows the surrounding markets like the back of her hand. “The moment I got my driver’s license, I started spending hours driving aimlessly to learn as much as I could about the neighborhoods outside my hometown,” says Matthews, a Realtor with Lamacchia Realty specializing in first-time homebuyers. 

Known for her approachability and honesty, Matthews sets clear expectations from the start while easing her clients into the process so they don’t get overwhelmed. “I like to know about my clients’ lifestyle, hobbies and what’s important to them,” she says. “They’re more than the square footage of their property or the budget they set for their dream home.”

Prior to becoming a Realtor, Matthews worked as the director of operations for a local top producer, managing transactions from offer to close. In addition to handling marketing, Matthews, who already had her license, conducted showings and open houses, getting a full hands-on education in the business of real estate. 

In 2022, Matthews earned the Rising Star Award from the Greater Boston Association of Realtors. She also graduated from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) Leadership Academy, the first step towards becoming a leader within the organization. She is currently the chairwoman of the Young Professionals Network of the MAR and is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Boston Association of Realtors.

A self-described Taco Bell addict, Matthews loves a Gordita Crunch. She is a single mom of two girls and one dog.
