An industry veteran of 38 years, Mary Harper, a senior loan officer at Guaranteed Rate Affinity, has found success in building strong real estate relationships, offering exceptional customer service and having a comprehensive understanding of home financing.
Harper’s background in underwriting management and operations before switching to sales allows her a technical view of the mortgage process. Holding an open-door policy for her borrowers, real estate agents and fellow loan officers alike to ask questions, she’s able to set expectations and create a smooth transaction for all parties. “I’m passionate about mentoring and training new agents coming into the market and helping my fellow loan officers grow through education and training,” she says. Leading a cohesive and informed team to create a successful loan experience for the client has resulted in Harper receiving a customer service award from Guaranteed Rate Affinity last year.
Specializing in conventional, jumbo, FHA, VA and other loan types, Harper prioritizes her clients’ success in homeownership above all else. “My No. 1 goal is to choose the right product for my borrowers,” she says, “making sure they understand the process and are happy at the end.” This means Harper is available 24/7 to answer questions, whether her client is still preparing to buy or has completed the closing.
The lasting relationships she’s formed with real estate agents has helped to create the foundation of her success, says Harper. “I am grateful for the business they refer to me and that they trust me completely with their clients; it’s a responsibility I take very seriously.”
Harper is a longtime resident of Marblehead, where she lives with her husband and raised her two children. In her downtime, she enjoys traveling, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.
