Ben Resnicow, Owner & Broker

Commonwealth Standard Realty

For real estate expert Ben Resnicow, owner and broker at Commonwealth Standard Realty, a deeper connection to the Boston-area market runs in his blood. With a father and close family friends who all have led the way in the industry, Resnicow naturally found himself running full-speed into this career 12 years ago. “This was my first job out of college,” he says. “I grew up in Newton, and over the years I’ve really learned this city.”

While he’s been able to sell over $100 million in property in 2020, Resnicow also encountered — and conquered — some notable challenges. These included getting an expecting couple’s home sold with only weeks to spare before their baby, and the pandemic, arrived. “I pulled all my resources — handyman, stager, photographer,” he recalls. “We got it listed the next week. It sold for 10% over asking and still gave them a use and occupancy so they could settle in with their baby and then slowly move into their new home.” Situations like this are exactly why clients say Resnicow brings calm and confidence to a nerve-wracking process.

Such is life for this high-energy and high-empathy brokerage leader, whose team processed 120 transactions and a 15-building portfolio. Clients say he combines an informative, data- and process-driven style with 24/7 availability that has been just the trick to soothe the nerves inherent with buying and selling.

“I always do consultations to go through the timeline and make things feel smooth and easy,” Resnicow notes. “I follow up with them after closing, I create real friendships with my clients and colleagues, and I ultimately want people to be happy with the process and outcome.”

Says the industry veteran, “I love my network, my agents and my job.”
