With just over a decade in the real estate industry, Melanie K. Fleet of Keller Williams Chestnut Hill started her career renting apartments in the city. Today, she sells more than 50 homes each year, and in 2020 alone, she closed over $45 million in real estate. Fleet attributes this success to providing truly concierge-level service to her clients, whether they’re selling a $200,000 condo or buying a $3 million home. “I really pride myself on going above and beyond, being there every step of the way for my clients,” she says. “Excellent service also means knowing my market, staying ahead of technology and being creative — whether in my marketing for sellers or writing offers for buyers.”
After years of waiting tables, Fleet became an agent at 29. She loved it right away and was excited by its limitless potential. “I kind of fell into real estate but within weeks was ready to quit my waitressing job and give it my all,” she remembers. “I woke up every day and couldn’t wait to go in. I definitely found my calling.”
For the past four years, Fleet has been the top individual agent in her Newton-based office. She’s also been featured in The Boston Globe and among The Wall Street Journal’s Real Trends list of top-performing real estate agents. At the end of 2020, she hired her first full-time assistant and looks forward to building her Fleet & Co. brand. “I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a career I love and also be successful in it,” she says. “I’m excited to see what the future brings.”
In her free time, Fleet enjoys reading, cooking and watching Netflix with her new husband. She hopes to get back to some of her favorite hobbies of hot yoga and travel post-pandemic.
