Senior Loan Officer Christina Longo Trethewey has always believed in the importance of planning for the future, and that forward-thinking approach to her career has resulted in numerous accolades, including being named in the Top 200 Loan Officers in the country by Scotsman Guide for 2012-2015; being named as one of the top 1 percent Mortgage Originators in Mortgage Executive Magazine for the last five years; and earning the President’s Club ranking for the last eight years. That Trethewey has earned so many distinctions in the 10 years since she decided to pursue her career in finance is a testament to this Boston native’s dedication.
Trethewey graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a communications degree. After graduating, she switched gears and decided that learning more about the mortgage business was a more natural fit for her future goals. As she established her career, Trethewey found that differentiating herself among her competitors was key. “I became an expert in condominium financing; therefore, I focused on condo financing and became the ‘Boston Condo Queen,’ according my colleagues and referral sources.”
Now her focus is on all residential financing, and she has immense knowledge of all available products and programs.
That royal reputation stems from Trethewey’s “no-nonsense approach” of working hard, staying focused and giving clients her full attention, making sure that client emails and voicemails are returned on the same day. “I take my role very seriously in assisting my clients make what, many times, is the biggest investment they will make.” Assisting her clients with realizing their dream of homeownership and sharing in the overall experience is what inspires Trethewey.
While she serves as a coach for the Charlestown Youth Soccer league, Trethewey relies on her husband off the field, who she says is her biggest fan. “He knows firsthand that my passion and drive is being committed to delivering outstanding service for the people I serve, as he was once my customer and is now my husband. If I didn’t give it my all with him, I am sure I would have heard about it by now!”
In addition, Trethewey is a contributor and participant in the ALS Foundation, the PMC Kids Ride in Lexington, and the Charlestown Mothers Association. She is passionate about everything she does both professionally and personally, and her biggest accomplishment is serving all to the best of her ability.
