Patriots kick off season, partner with affordable housing organizations

by Elizabeth Kanzeg Rowland

Several Boston-based organizations addressing affordable housing were honored for their work at the New England Patriots’ home opener game vs. the Raiders on September 7.

Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) and the Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA) were recognized for creating affordable housing in Boston and providing vital community services.

Over the next two years, the Kraft family and the New England Patriots Foundation, in partnership with Bank of America, will issue a total of $300,000 to these and other local organizations serving Boston.

“This support will prepare more of the people we serve in Boston to take the steps toward first-time home ownership,” said IBA CEO Vanessa Calderón-Rosado. “We’re proud to have helped many residents move from affordable rental housing into homes of their own, and we look forward to creating more success stories with the help of this initiative.”
