Things are heating up in Springfield as the city tops Realtor.com’s Market Hotness Index heading into summer.
The index analyzes supply and rising demand in 300 metros across the nation using active inventory data, listing views by market and median days on market. Data from April showed Springfield leading the pack.
Realtor.com categorized Springfield as a “Very Hot” market, finding that Springfield’s inventory moved 27 days faster than the U.S. overall. Homes in the area spent a median of 23 days on the market.
Listings in Springfield receive an average number of views 3.5 times higher than the national average.
The ranking mirrors trends in Massachusetts as high demand and low supply continue to fuel a sellers’ market.
