William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage and Insurance

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? Definitely, being a Flight Attendant for TWA. I like a project-based job and both TWA and Real Estate are project-based.

Where did you grow up? West St. Louis County, Missouri

Growing up, what did you want to be?Someone that could bring change to people’s lives — in whatever career.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? There is nothing like a good massage, a nice glass of wine or a nap on the couch!

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Richard Branson — he is an agent of change and yet is considerate of the world around him.

What is Boston’s best-kept secret? The amazing shoreline is of the most interesting to me, but the city is so livable and engaging as well.

What do you love most about the industry? Real Estate is a challenge to each agent in so many ways. I love the education, the technology and the self-improvement that always needs to be happening to progress.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? Basically, I have done almost everything in my 20 years in real estate. I have been an agent, a manager, trained as a coach, been on the local and state association boards and many committees and am always searching for new ways to help my clients.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Having systems that won’t let you down. After years in this business you have to have a structure that works for you and makes you able to service your clients needs at all times.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Be out in the world. Interact with new people all the time. Spread the word and share what you do and why you love it!

What has been your greatest accomplishment? I am still waiting to see what comes next; but absolutely every single closing has been a great accomplishment!

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? “The Amazing Attorney Woo” on Netflix, “Demon Copperhead,” book by Barbara Kingsolver and “Midnight” by Taylor Swift!

What’s your favorite meal in Boston? I love the pasta in the North End and a good steak occasionally at Grill 23.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? The John Hancock Building, because of its history in Boston and the Boston Public Library.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? A few things but nothing stands out.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you? How obsessed I am with my four grandchildren!

What is your favorite vacation spot and why? We love to go to Park City, Utah, and for local Stowe, Vermont for skiing

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Put yourself out there if you do real estate!

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? Ha Ha, PHOTOS!

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? John Mayer, my close friends and family.
