A 10-unit apartment building in Cambridge sold for $6.55 million after hitting the market for the first time in over a century.

Marcus & Millichap marketed 23-25 Hammond St. on behalf of the seller and procured a private buyer. The property’s location in the Agassiz neighborhood offers access to the MBTA Red Line station and Harvard University.

“This property represents a rare opportunity coming to market for the first time in over a century, the epitome of a true trophy asset with 10 large units and significant value-add potential,” said Marcus & Millichap senior managing director Evan Griffith, in a press release.

“Located directly across from Harvard University in the highly sought-after Agassiz neighborhood, this property benefits from exceptional access to amenities and transit, which drives strong rental demand from students and faculty,” added Tony Pepdjonovic, senior managing director.
