Mark Little proposes six-story apartment building near Peabody square

by Elizabeth Kanzeg Rowland

Plans for a proposed development in the Ashmont Hill neighborhood of Dorchester that include five stories of housing and a ground floor restaurant space are currently under review.

The application for the 555 Talbot Avenue project was submitted by Mark Little of Abacus Builders. The redevelopment would create 34 units of housing, including six income-restricted dwellings. Plans also include 700 square feet of landscaped space along Dorchester Ave.

RODE Architects would serve as architect for the project, while 555 Talbot, LLC, a Mark Little Company, is listed as the primary developer.

“Overall, from both planning and zoning perspectives, this proposal represents thoughtful infill development that maximizes the benefits of existing transit infrastructure while contributing to the city’s housing goals and supporting vibrant, walkable neighborhoods consistent with Boston’s long-term planning vision,” the proposal states.
