Raffeya Daniels Realtor, Venture Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? I’m a real estate paralegal. I’m able to hold my client’s hand and do all of the paperwork to ensure that things are done properly.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Boston, MA.

Growing up, what did you want to be? Growing up I wanted to be a lawyer. I’m not too far off because I’m a paralegal at a law firm, as well as a realtor.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? When I’m stressed I like to unwind and hang out with my son. Just being around him makes everything better.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I would love to meet Michelle Obama because she’s such a boss. I’d love to have a conversation with her.

What is Boston’s best-kept secret? Unity. I think people come together and unite more than what is portrayed sometimes through the media.

What do you love most about the industry? I love helping people. The look on someone’s face when they buy their dream home is priceless and when they sell to start a new chapter in their life – what could be better than that?

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I like to be honest. I like for my clients to take their time when making big decisions. It’s not all about the commission for me. I want my clients to be happy.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Every job has difficulties so there’s not anything that I can’t face and get handled in a proper way.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? Communicate with everyone. Out of 20 people in a crowd one of them may be in the market for a realtor.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? I would have to say, my son! He’s my world and means everything to me. He’s a bright young man who’s about to graduate college and take over the world.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately? I’m reading a lot of mystery books. I’m binge-watching “Only Murders in the Building.” Absolutely love that show! I listen to everything, rock, hip-hop, R&B and country. I love music.

What’s your favorite meal in Boston? My favorite meal right now is the steak from Davio’s.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Boston? I love the Boston Public Library. I love the look and feel of the inside and the outside.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? The weirdest thing was that my buyer complained about the leaves that were left in the yard by the seller. I did the obvious thing which was buy a rake and clean up the leaves for them.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you? People are most surprised to learn that I have a 21-year-old child.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why? I love vacationing in California. It’s like once you step off the plane the entire vibe changes and it’s just so calming/relaxing for me.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t give up, your clients are out there!
