by Liz Hughes

Knox Financial is expanding its leadership team with the hiring of three new vice presidents of user design and experience, engineering and marketing.

The fintech company for property investors also plans to grow its staff by more than 30% across all departments in 2021. In June, the company announced the opening of its new headquarters at 177 Newbury St. in Boston

“Knox is changing how people from all walks of life build wealth through investment property, and over the last two years has emerged as one of the largest fintech companies for property investors in the U.S.,” company CEO David Friedman said in a press release. “As our team grows, we will launch the Knox Frictionless Ownership Platform in new cities and continue to use technology, data and unique financing products to deliver an effortless wealth-building experience for families who are moving and want to hold on to their homes as long-term investments.”

Jimmy Ellis is the company’s new vice president of marketing. Vinay Gode is taking on the role of vice president of engineering, and Julie Jensen has been named vice president of product design and experience.

Ellis brings more than 20 years of experience to his position. He previously held roles as director of performance marketing for Fracture, co-founder of Prospecting Hub, director of optimization research for MarketingExperiments.com and director of marketing for EMS Computing.

Gode, who will lead the engineering team, comes to Knox from Bynde Inc., where he was the chief technology officer. He previously held roles including founder and technical architect of VESPO, co-founder and CTO of Shift Dash, as well as a software engineer for Verizon Wireless and Kenandy Inc.

Jensen, a world-leading expert in user experience, previously held head of UX roles at Frost Bank, Capital One and Amazon, as well as principal UX manager for Microsoft, where she established the usability engineering process for the company’s cloud services and Office 365.

Knox Financial also announced the promotion of Thahn Vo, who will become the company’s head of operations. Vo was previously a senior manager of operations for Grubhub, where she scaled internal systems and the external driver network to handle unprecedented food-delivery growth. She was also a senior project manager for McKesson and a program manager for Amazon.
