The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s has officially leased more than 60% of its Phase 1 unit offerings.
The hilltop residential community is located at 161-185 Washington St. in Brighton and to date, 200 units have been leased and 63.21% of all first phase offerings. Residents in these buildings — Overlook Landmark and Overlook East — are the first to move into the community.
Two more residential buildings, Overlook North and Overlook West, are slated to open this summer.
The Boston Planning and Development Agency approved the project in 2017, and last month the building permit was approved for the fourth and final residential building at the 11-acre St. Gabriel’s monastery redevelopment project.
“Our vision for The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s was to create a unique residential community that people would be drawn to, and reaching this leasing milestone so quickly is a testament to the building’s beauty and desirability for residents,” John Sullivan, executive vice president at Cabot, Cabot, & Forbes said in a press release. “This property feels like an oasis in the middle of bustling Boston, and we are excited to celebrate this achievement as the project nears completion.”
The Overlook at St. Gabriel’s includes four residential buildings, restoration of the historic St. Gabriel’s monastery and the adjacent church, retention of the existing Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima and the renovation of a vacant house at 201 Washington St. A three-acre Olmsted Brothers-designed landscaped buffer along Washington Street will be restored and enhanced as well.
Once completed the development will include 660 residential units split between 105 condominiums and 555 apartments, plus other amenities, a fitness center, a cafe, an outdoor pool and grills, a business center, a co-working space and other common areas.
