What do you consider a “fashion don’t”? A black belt with brown shoes or vice versa. Guys should always match these. ​

What is your favorite piece of clothing and why? That’s easy – my lobster shirt. Yes, not something I would wear to a meeting with a client, but it’s a great shirt. I wear it twice a year around Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. You wouldn’t believe the number of compliments I get on it. ​The best part is that I bought it for $20 from Old Navy several years ago. Everyone thinks it’s Vineyard Vines or some fancy Cape Cod designer. My little shellfish secret, I guess.

What do you consider a must-have accessory? A reliable, yet fashionable watch. As a real estate agent, punctuality is so crucial. I’ve been wearing Skagen watches for several years. They are nice-looking, durable watches that are not particularly expensive, which allows me to get my hands dirty if the workday calls for it.

Where are your favorite places to shop? Honestly, I treat buying clothes the same way I coach my homebuying clients. As in, the most expensive home is not necessarily the best product. Can we accomplish what you are looking for, for less money? Same with fashion. Don’t be afraid to shop at Marshall’s or outlet stores. They accomplish your fashion goals for way less. Save the money for your marketing budget.

What, besides your wardrobe, completes your look? A good pair of sunglasses. Driving around the city is no fun when you forget a pair at home on a sunny day.

What is in your bag/briefcase? Everything is digital these days. It’s rare to need a bag. If I did have a bag, it would carry my phone charger. Without a charged phone, myself and most agents are helpless. ​

My closet is full of…Many dry cleaning plastic bags, and shoes.

What is your style advice for other people in the industry? It’s okay to not wear a suit every day. A sharp blazer and a good pair of pants will also get you the respect you’re looking for.
