Anyone who frequents “real estate TikTok” has probably seen videos by Ashley Perkins. She regularly highlights her listings on the social media platform so that followers can not only tour her available homes, but also learn a little about her in the bargain. “I try to get creative with the videos of the homes and tell a story,” Perkins shares.
A New Hampshire transplant who came to Boston as a college student, Perkins began her career on the rental side of the business, where she learned the city. She’s been a solo agent since 2015, but her roots in the industry go much deeper. The fourth-generation Realtor’s entire family does real estate in New Hampshire, where her mother has been the top agent in the state for many years. For Perkins, that meant spending summers working in her mom’s office, learning how to navigate different transactions well before she became an agent herself.
Doing the hard work nobody sees, such as spending hours preparing listing presentations, helps show clients that Perkins means business. “I like to have fun, but I also understand that there’s a time and place,” she explains. “I want my clients to feel comfortable with me but also confident in my abilities and know that I don’t take their huge investment lightly.”
Perkins is proud to have sold the Ritz-Carlton penthouse in 2023 after more than a year. “I did everything I could and more to get the listing the most exposure possible,” she remembers. “It just never was the right fit for the buyers that came through.” In the end, Perkins’ strong working relationship with another broker brought a deal together, lending proof to the old adage that the real estate business is built on relationships.
Perkins is an avid skier. She recently took a remote heli-skiing trip to Canada.
