A file room job at NE Moves Mortgage that Rick Harrington took in college led to a career in lending that has spanned 17 years. “Having over a decade in the mortgage industry, I’ve seen so many different types of loans and industry changes that I feel well-equipped to help almost any client in any situation,” says Harrington, now originating manager with Guaranteed Rate Affinity. Competitive on rates and always available to answer questions from agents and clients, he boasts a large referral base. The connections and proven network of Realtors, attorneys and banks he has crafted over time allow him to best serve clients.
Harrington oversees 17 Coldwell Banker offices in Boston and the surrounding areas, serving as a manager to additional Guaranteed Rate Affinity loan originators, in addition to maintaining his own book of business. His specialty is corporate relocations and new-construction development.
Harrington is the first vice president in Guaranteed Rate Affinity’s Midwest/New England division to earn the elite level of Chairman’s Circle consecutively. He has closed over $1 billion in loan volume in his career, attributing his success to the focus, structure and care that his team provides customers day in and day out. The team helps him process loans, market his services and develop new business.
“My team is very process-driven,” he says. “But we are best known in the real estate community for our ability to establish relationships that drive both success in navigating the loan and delivering the best finished product for the mutual client.”
For more than a decade, Harrington has achieved Guaranteed Rate’s President’s Club status and consistently ranked among the company’s top 1% of mortgage originators in the United States. “Without my team,” he insists, “it would be impossible to close the volume we have in the past few years.”
Active in the community, Harrington supports several charitable organizations, including Coldwell Banker CARES and the Inner-City Scholarship Fund.
