Gene Hashkes has sales in his blood. Hashkes, Realtor and vice president of William Raveis Real Estate, grew up working at his parents’ jewelry store downtown. He learned early on that you always need to be honest and give great advice from the heart if you want to build trust to earn a loyal following. “Far and away,” he says, “it’s more important than any one sale.”

Consistently ranked in the top 5% at Raveis out of more than 4,500 agents in nine states, Hashkes works with luxury buyers, sellers, developers, investors and landlords in Boston and the surrounding suburbs. Much of his business comes from repeat customers and referrals. “If you want longevity in this business, you have to be trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional,” he comments. “In the end, you are helping people buy homes where their families will create a lifetime of memories together. For many, this is their largest investment.”

Hashkes’ career began in 1995 when he rented apartments in college. After graduation, he managed over 1,000 closings per year as a paralegal and operations manager for a real estate law firm. Fascinated by the closing process, he realized that he belonged on the other side of the table, representing clients in real estate sales. That experience provided him with a broad foundation of expertise, enabling him to become a top-producer in his first year.

“After 26 years and 300+ transactions, there are not many situations that I have not encountered before,” Hashkes says. “When difficult challenges arise, having proven strategies from past experiences is the key towards achieving successful outcomes.”
