Randy Horn, Realtor, The Real Estate Randy Team at Compass
For Randy Horn, real estate isn’t about the transactions — it’s about the relationships. Horn, leader of the Real Estate Randy team at Compass, serves discerning Boston-based clients, many of whom are millennial first-time homebuyers eager to land a property with strong resale or rental opportunity. “Helping first-time homebuyers achieve their goal of homeownership has been a rewarding privilege,” he says.
First earning his license at age 18 and starting in rentals, Horn later joined a commercial brokerage firm, prospecting for off-market investment opportunities, before returning to the residential market. “I knew my greatest strength was connecting with people face-to-face to build long-term relationships,” he says of his motivation for switching careers.
Guided by his empathic nature and willingness to understand all parties’ points of view, Horn focuses on the big picture, guiding his clients toward the right decisions in minimal time. “Being able to put yourself in another person’s shoes to see their side of the equation helps me figure out a solution that is mutually beneficial to keep us moving forward,” he explains.
Horn is an Accredited Buyer’s Representative and has also earned his Certified Residential Specialist and GREEN designations. He has been featured in Boston Agent magazine’s Who’s Who since 2016 and ranked among Realtor Magazine’s 30 Under 30 in 2018 and HireHaven’s 16 Best Real Estate Agents in Boston in 2017.
This year, the passing of his nephew Max forced Horn to reevaluate his life and his career. “I realized that I didn’t want to do anything that I couldn’t put my heart into,” he says. The tragedy proved to be a catalyst for more than a shift in attitude — Horn is now a board member of the Max McCormick Memorial Foundation.
