Senior Vice President
Standing at the forefront of the real estate industry, Eric Tam, senior vice president at Compass, can sell a single-family home sight unseen. “I sold 210 Tappan pre-construction,” he explains, describing the unique challenge of convincing buyers to spend millions based on mock-ups alone. “And a year later, they still love the place.”
A former IT recruiter for WinterWyman, Tam is now 12 years into his career as a real estate agent and 18 months into his tenure at Compass. Working with a range of buyers, sellers and developers, as well as both domestic and international investors in Brookline and the Greater Boston area, Tam focuses solely on meeting his customers’ needs. “My relationships with my clients are everything,” he says. “At the end of the day, it’s about keeping them safe and getting them what they want. Do right, and it will come back full circle.”
In 2019, Real Trends listed Tam among America’s Best Real Estate Professionals and Best of Boston named him a Top Real Estate Professional. “I love what I do,” says Tam. “It doesn’t matter to me if someone makes more or less. We are all on the same team.”
Tam graduated from Babson College with a degree in business. As an agent at Compass, he relies heavily on the company’s extensive marketing technology, updating his branding techniques to be more strategic in his use of social media, web and print collateral. “It has impressed not only my seller clients, but even my buyer clients as well,” he says.
Tam loves to travel and share his passion for food and culture with his young daughters. “My grandmother cooked for me and my sister, so it’s my turn to do the same for my girls,” he says.
