Inspired by a desire to help people find the home of their dreams, Guaranteed Rate Branch Manager Bryan Brown has been a guiding light through the often complex home mortgage process for many prospective homebuyers. Crediting his attention to detail and self-motivation, Brown has closed enough business to place him in the top 1 percent of mortgage originators nationwide from 2012 to 2015, during which time he also maintained a 92 percent customer satisfaction rating. His clients clearly appreciate his guidance.

Since entering the business 13 years ago, Brown has primarily worked with first-time homebuyers and young families looking to make the move from the city to the suburbs. “I stand out amongst loan officers by focusing on constant communication with my clients and referral partners throughout the process,” Brown says. He places the utmost value on communication, which has contributed to his becoming one of the nation’s most successful mortgage originators.

As a former athlete, Brown felt like a natural fit for the industry. He’s self-motivated, coachable, goal oriented and adaptable, which are all attributes that align well with the demands of mortgage lending. Still, apart from all that, he simply likes working with people. “A lot of loan officers in this business are so focused on just closing the loan and collecting the commission that they forget that there are real people involved that are taking a huge step in their lives by buying a house,” he says.

Brown’s empathy for his clients is what makes education such a crucial part of the process for him. He wants people to understand the process. “I excel in mortgages due to my attention to detail and knowledge of the guidelines,” Brown says. “And I relay that to my clients.” He sees that mindset in his colleagues as well.

Outside of work, Brown says he draws the most inspiration from his family, including its newest member, his recently born daughter. He also spends time as a member of local Chambers of Commerce and BNI. Though previously an avid community volunteer, he took a hiatus in the lead up to the birth of his daughter. He says he’s excited to start giving back to his community once again.
