An existing South Boston industrial structure will be demolished, making way for 236 housing units and nearly 6,000 feet of publicly accessible land.
The removal of chain link fences on the property will allow construction of raised crosswalks and the addition of trees. Plans also include a ground-floor bicycle storage room with one space per residential unit and an additional 50 spaces for visitors.
Located at 295 West First St., the six-story project was initially approved by the Boston Planning Department in 2024.
