Guaranteed Rate’s Shant Banosian has been named the country’s top mortgage originator of 2023 by the Scotsman Guide, having funded more than $925 million in total loan volume last year and closing 1,617 loans. 

This isn’t the first time Banosian, based in Waltham, Massachusetts, topped the rankings. In 2020, he earned the No. 1 spot with $915.7 million in business during 2019. 

According to Guaranteed Rate, Banosian stands out from the rest with his excellent customer service, thoroughly educating his clients about their loan options and his ability to close loans in record time. He’s been with the company for 15 years. 

Banosian says his team’s hard work and dedication to serving their clients over the past decade helped him reach this milestone.

Banosian, who is licensed in all 50 states, has been recognized as a top loan officer nationally for five years in a row by Scotsman Guide and Mortgage Executive Magazine. He’s also been named 

A graduate of Bentley University, Banosian is heavily involved with several local charities including the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Walk/Run In Boston, the Greater Boston Food Bank and the Guaranteed Rate Foundation. He lives in Belmont with his wife and three daughters.
