Massachusetts named best place to live in the US

Massachusetts is the best state to live in the U.S., according to WalletHub’s 2022 Best States to Live In list

WalletHub compared all 50 states across five metrics covering affordability, economy, education and health, quality of life and safety. States were also compared across 52 livability indicators, including housing costs, income growth, education rates and the quality of hospitals. 

Massachusetts topped the list in education and health coming in at No. 1. It ranked fourth in safety, sixth in quality of life, 10th for economy and 44th in affordability. 

The Bay State also topped the list at No. 1 for the percentage of population that is insured, came in fifth for average weekly work hours, sixth for percentage of residents over the age of 12 who are fully vaccinated and seventh for percentage of population living in poverty.

Massachusetts also ranked eighth for the percentage of adults in fair or poor health and ninth in both income growth and restaurants per capita.
