This Week in Boston Real Estate: Big sales, big plans and more

by Stephanie Sims and Natalie Terchek

The top four biggest sales in the Boston area were actually in Boston proper, which, according to the Boston Globe, is a rarity itself. What’s more, three of the four were in the same building: The Lucas, which is a converted church on Shawmut Avenue in South End. The homes there sold for $2.65 million to $3.25 million. The biggest sale in the metro area, a three-bedroom, 4.5-bath condo in Millennium Tower, went for $6.5 million.

In other real estate news:

  • Nearly 20 acres of land between South Boston and South End will go on the market this week, which expects say will spur a contentious battle, according to the Globe.
  • HYM Investment Group officially stated its intent to develop a “new neighborhood” at the old Suffolk Downs horse track with 11 million square feet of mixed-use space, the Globe reports.
  • Sennéß Residential recently introduced its Harvard Street Residences — four new homes in Cambridge that are scheduled to hit the market in early 2018, according to Boston Real Estate Times.
