Michael Bornstein, Vice President, Origination

NewFed Mortgage

Quality customer service and constant communication are of top priority for Michael Bornstein. Whether sitting on an airplane waiting for takeoff or at the hospital, inside the delivery room, anxiously anticipating the birth of his first son (true story), he never misses a call from clients. Bornstein, vice president for origination at NewFed Mortgage, works around the clock to make sure he matches borrowers with a lending solution that best meets their needs.

“I’m available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says Bornstein, who specializes in conventional, FHA and VA loans. “I educate clients on the loan process from beginning to end and help them understand their options throughout it.”

With total volume of $303,914.61, Bornstein was named a 2021 top originator by the Scotsman Guide. In all, he closed 803 loans and placed 105 among the top originators in the country, landing in the No. 3 spot in Massachusetts. Thanks to the assistance of his operations staff, he’s able to close loans in record time, which bolsters his reputation as a loyal and trustworthy professional. “You treat people like family, and they refer you to everyone,” he shares. “I come to work every day feeling passionate about what I do and driven to guide my clients in the right direction.” Not surprisingly, he runs a 100% referral-based business.

“In my 17 years in this business, I’ve learned an awful lot and grown as a person,” he explains. “I am a happy man with no regrets. Life is short, and I do live it to the fullest with family and all my friends.”

Outside of work, Bornstein loves spending time with his wife and their two sons, as well as coaching his children’s sports teams. “My family is everything to me,” he declares. “When I can shut down work, which is not too often, I enjoy them all as much as possible.”
