Extensive market knowledge, strong network connections and a proactive approach to problem-solving have made Karen Burton an expert on creating memorable client experiences.
Burton, a global real estate advisor with Sotheby’s International Realty, has eight years of experience assisting luxury buyers and sellers on Cape Cod. A resident of Falmouth, she knows firsthand what makes it a great place to live, work and play.
Burton grew up learning about real estate from her parents, who had successful careers in the industry, and always knew one day she would work in real estate too. She began her career as a pharmacist and then clinical director of a large healthcare organization, where she managed a team — building the skills that helped her seamlessly transition to real estate.
“My mother’s greatest tip is, ‘If you always have your clients’ interests first, success will follow.’”
Burton does and it has. Since 2017, she has ranked among the top three agents in her brokerage. In 2020 and 2021, she made the Real Trends “America’s Best” list of the country’s top 1.5% of agents. Based on sales volume, she is presently among the Top 100 Sotheby’s International Realty agents nationwide.
Burton’s business is mostly based on referrals. She also meets prospective clients at open houses. “They see how we interact with others and want to work with us,” she explains.
Burton approaches each transaction with energy, enthusiasm and integrity. Knowing that each client has a different style, different interests and different preferences, she takes the time to understand who they are and what motivates them.
“It’s not just about committing to your clients and treating them with respect,” she says. “It’s about treating every professional in the process with respect — fellow brokers, contractors, attorneys, etc.”
A proud wife, mother and new grandmother, Burton enjoys golf, pickleball and CrossFit.
