When you’ve lived and worked in Boston for nearly three decades, moved 20 times in that period and run a small business there for 15 years, you are officially a Boston expert. Katie Grealish, Realtor with The Residential Group at William Raveis Real Estate, brings to her role that exact history — along with a deep interest in market changes across Boston’s diverse neighborhoods.

“Each neighborhood has its own unique characteristics, and I love exploring them with clients who are deciding where they would like to live,” says Grealish, who got her start frequenting Sunday open houses before taking the plunge into real estate. Now a member of the National Association of Realtors and a five-star agent on Zillow, Grealish says clients find her to be available, attentive and responsive. That’s no surprise, given that she started in the demanding restaurant business, where managing expectations, connecting with various personalities and multitasking were daily habits.

“I have surpassed my goals for 2020 and have done twice the business that I did in 2019,” says Grealish. She recently helped clients win two bidding wars with more than 10 offers — without having the highest-priced one.

“It’s important to promote patience and positivity,” says Grealish of buying and selling. “I want clients to have fun with the process.” She says her concierge-style service and worker bee optimism offer a sense of calm during an overwhelming time.

For Grealish, the quintessential New Englander and an outdoor enthusiast, her history in the area and ability to build real friendships from professional relationships are all about providing communication, resources and attention to clients’ needs. “There is nothing better than a referral from a happy past client,” she says.
