David DeBonis
Senior Loan Officer
Draper and Kramer Mortgage Corp.
Few loan officers ever make the news with a mortgage closing, but David DeBonis is an exception. Thanks to his strong industry reputation and close association with civil servant groups, he was invited to be the first loan originator in the state to close on a MassHousing Operation Welcome Home loan for veterans. The occasion was marked by a ceremony at the State House that was attended by the governor.
This event highlights not just DeBonis’ standing in the mortgage industry but also his passion for serving first-time homebuyers and military veterans. “I especially enjoy working with these groups and helping them understand and access the benefits available to them,” he says. “It always feels good to help the people who need it the most.”
New homebuyers and seasoned investors alike benefit from DeBonis’ exceptional credentials. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a degree in business management, DeBonis has 19 years of mortgage industry experience. He has distinguished himself as a top loan producer every year for the past 15 years.
Helping others in both his professional and personal life is important to DeBonis. “I’m focused on giving back, to clients, staff, colleagues, charity organizations and, of course, my family and friends,” he says. As one way of doing this, DeBonis regularly volunteers at the children’s hospital where his daughter received life-saving care at 17 months old.
DeBonis has set ambitious goals for himself: growing his team, streamlining his process, improving his customer experience and helping more clients. “What really inspires me is serving others, testing my limits and fully committing to giving everything I have at all times,” he says.
